It can be a lovely idea to have some photos taken before your wedding to mark your engagement.

You may ask your professional photographer to take some engagement shots which can be a great way to get to know your photographer to make you more at ease on your wedding day. Or do you know a friend or family member who is a budding photographer?

There are many ways you could use the photos – use them to make personalised wedding invitations or use to make engagement announcement cards. You could even show them at your wedding alongside your guestbook.

You could also get some of these photos printed and give them as gifts to your wedding attendants as a personal thank you present.

It’s up to you what style of photos you choose from getting all dressed up for formal photos to being more relaxed for casual shots.  What matters is that you get the photographs that you want to really capture your relationship.
